axis for my new glasses?!
Question: Axis for my new glasses?
my prescription says for both eyes (written by the medic)
sph -200 cyl -050 axis 100
now I can guess the first 2 numbers are actually -2,00 and -0,50 from my old glasses, but what's the axis ? 1 ? looks strage ...should be 100 right ?

Answers:
Yes, - 2.00 - 0.50 X 100
The axis is one hundred... there are no decimals in the axis numbers

The sph and cyl are diopters, and are usually written with two places to the right of the decimal point. The axis is an angle, and it written as a whole number.
