-1.25 to -1.75 are the Lens power on you glasses, nearsighted people wear these lenses if that is what you mean by direct power then you are nearsighted. If you mean by 20/? direct power then there is no direct conversion but with those power you will probably see 20/70 with both eyes open.

Never heard of the term " direct power" , you will have to explain more about what you mean by that.
