What do we think of a 23 year old wearing glasses ??

Well...23 is bad...very bad to wear glasses at 23...but if you look 22 or 24, you will be fine and no one will care or give it a second thought.

I'm pulling your leg of course. People of any age wear glasses. Just find some that look good and you will get used to it fast , and so will your friends.

23 is a pretty good age for LASIK or other refractive surgery. Call up an ophthalmologist in your area and see if he does any refractive surgeries or can recommend someone who does. There is much less lifetime risk in getting LASIK once than there is in wearing contacts every day for your life - as you have found. Go talk to your ophthalmologist about it and see if you think its right for you.

That said, glasses can look pretty cool. One of the guys I work with (upper 20's) has an awesome pair of Oakley prescription glasses that have only a quarter of a diopter of myopic correction in them. He only wears them because they look so good on him. Just shop around and find some glasses that look really good on you. You may find that you look better in glasses than without them.

Most people don't think anything of other people wearing glasses.

If your contacts are causing you to get recurring eye infections, it may be time to look at your care routine, and see, if there is anything you could be doing differently, changing brands, better cleaning, different cleaning solution.

I know that there are people who are self-conscious about wearing glasses. I'm sorry, but I don't get it.
