How much do you have to talk at an eye appointment?!

Question: How much do you have to talk at an eye appointment?
I need glasses, because I think I have astigmatism. Everything is out of focus, especially words, but it's not blurry and I can still see. What can I expect from an eye appointment. I'm a very shy person so how much do you have to talk before you can get your glasses or contacts?

Answers:

You'll have to share the normal personal history information, but that will probably be on a form.

You will be asked a bit about why you made the appointment. Other than that, most of what you will have to say is to read some letters and answer some yes/no/one/two questions. This last bit is from what happens during the refraction. The doc will switch between two views, and ask you, "Which is clearer/sharper? One (flip) or two?"

a little bit. you have to read letters and stuff out loud. its no big deal. just answer his questions
