Is wearing glasses considered as a medical illness/Disorder?!

Question: Is wearing glasses considered as a medical illness/Disorder?
i mean, people who wear them for not being able to see things far away, or close up.
is it considered as a "disease"?
in my opinion it isn't because a majority of people wear them, but what do you think??

Answers:

No, it isn't.

Being nearsighted, or farsighted or having astigmatism aren't diseases.

It isn't even a disability....in any legal terms

It is not a disorder but indicates that it is a correction for an condition in the eye. Nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism are the common conditions involved. I wear eyeglasses all the time just to see more clearly.

if you think about it that way, then i guess you're right. something not functioning the way it is supposed to function is technically some kind of disorder.

Not a disease, the eyes are healthy if the only problem is needing glasses.
