I'm more concerned about how fast your vision is changing . Your glasses are stronger every time you ask this question. ( this is the 4th time you ask and 3rd time they get stronger )

You jumped from - 5.00 and - 5.25 to - 7.00 in only 3 days !

Glasses don't make swimming harder however they get so wet in 2 minutes that you can't see anythign through them. Also the chlorine makes a real mess of the outside of the lenses so you have terrible problems cleaning them. I have only swum occasionally in old glasses when I had a probelm with my contacts and I'd promised to take some children to the swimming pool.

I'd suggest that you get someone to guide you to the swimming pool (my eyesight isn't as bad as that being about -6 but I have astigmatism as well). Get your mum to write a note to the teacher saying that swimming in your glasses will damage them and won't help you see while swimming and if she wants you to swim she must assist you into the pool and make reasonable provision to help you. You wont' be any better off with glasses on. Its a good idea to learn to swim as if you fall in any water its easy to drown if you can't swim. It is also a good idea to learn what the water feels liek without your glasses so you have some idea how you might swim to the bank if you feel into a river for example.

I guess this is going to be hard for you - I enjoy swimming so much I wouldn't pass up a chance for anything . I appreciate this isn't the same for you , but learning to swim is a safety thing.

If you can't get prescription goggles than how about making your own. Kind of an experiment. Just get some aluminum foil, glue and a little pin. Make some pinhole lenses for your goggles.

First do it without the glue. take the foil and pin and make a bunch of tiny nicely shaped holes in the foil and then put the foil inside the goggles. Pinholes work like squinting your eyes, making it sharper. Once you get the holes right, glue the foil in with waterproof glue. Experiment until it works, kind of a science project. Check the link.

Could look cool, all of the others will want them.

Talk to your teacher. -7.00 is really bad. Your glasses are probably pretty thick, and the teacher sees this and wants you to wear them. Talk to your teacher. I wear glasses, and I wear them in the pool, but put them on the side when I go under. Maybe you can do that during instructions. Also, maybe you can get big goggles that your glasses will fit under.

Check with some local optical shops or a dive shop. There are swim goggles that come with built in correction. It may not be your exact correction, but will work fine. These are a one piece molded lens. Some prescription goggles can be expensive and leak. The ones below are pretty cheap, but you might find some locally too. So whatever correction you finally end up with since it has changed from -5.00 to -7.00 so quickly, they can accommodate you.

Ask for Contacts, they would be way cheaper than swimming goggles, then you can buy 10 dollar goggles from the store. -7.00 disposable contacts about 20 dollars a box, 2 boxes (per eye) last 3 months.

no to be honest i don't thinks he does pfft swimming in glasses is the stupidest thing i have ever heard tell your teacher where to SHOVE IT!!!

My OPINION =^..^= x x x x

no she doesn't have the right to make you swim. however if you don't swim she will most likely give you another assignment.
