To know what your true level of eyesight is you need to ensure the A-O joint (which links the neck to the skull)is at the correct angle.

So explaining it very simply. Try placing a finger on the back of neck gently (in the very center), then move your finger up the spine until you reach a bump. This bump indicates the neck has ended and you're now touching the skull.
While keeping your neck in the same position try tilting your skull by allowing this bump to move upwards. Just do this a tiny bit. You don't have to tilt your head ALL the way forward.

These videos explain the problem and the way to correct it:

It's important first to understand what is correct posture and what is bad posture. The first two videos explain this. Then watch the third video and pay attention to the short 5 second clip they show at the very beginning of the video. This clip shows a skeleton moving its head. You can see how the neck of the skeleton is not moving but the skull is leaning gently forwards and backwards. This is a very hard movement to do normally. You either need an expert to assist you or you can try placing a finger on the back of your head and check that you can imitate that same movement yourself. (remember keep the neck completely still always)

You might be able to do this trick correctly today but get lazy and start doing it wrong later. It's very important to keep the neck as it is and THEN letting only the skull move and tilt. When your skull is in a comfortable poise this shows in how relaxing it feels and how you can see everything with your eyes much more clearly.
But remember to be very gentle with all these movements. You just need to move things like 1mm. It's not about the more you push, the better it gets. These are only small adjustments that help your eyesight in the long-term.
(it also helps to be relaxed and in a good mood while doing this to ensure 100% effectiveness. If you start laughing or feel happy its a sign you understood everything correctly and your adjustment has had a positive effect.)

Another way to achieve the same result is while standing up or sitting down tuck your chin in slightly backwards. A way to do this is to put your finger in front of your chin and direct your head backwards slightly. The 2nd video demonstrates this well.

All these movements are subtle and should not cause any pain or discomfort. You shouldn't think the harder you push the better it is. This is the wrong approach. You are only doing small and gentle adjustments to help correct your general posture. (Your eyesight will be perfect as a consequence)

So the four videos previously mentioned all help to explain the problem.
If you really don't understand what is said in the videos then please avoid doing anything as anything done wrongly could be dangerous. The people featured in these videos are experts in bones and muscles. They know what is safe and what is dangerous. What we are talking about here are things like the spine, the nerves inside them and blood arteries which should not be disturbed or harmed.
So ideally you should understand what youre doing before attempting to do anything.

In answer to your original question....

Glasses do not cure eyesight. They just make life seem easier for the person. Glasses however are addictive, worsen eyesight and create negative changes in a person's psychology. Their posture also suffers.

Sites like these explain the flaws and problems with glasses and soft contact lenses.

Myopia (shortsightedness) is dangerous in itself with myopic people experiencing a greater risk of glaucoma, cataracts, retinal detachment and lacquer cracks.

Was always lead to believe that glasses actually make your eyes lazy, because the lenses make your eyes seem to work as normal, your eyes actually get used to this and thus wont work as they should without glasses. This is why instead of stabilising your sight, they make you need stronger prescriptions each time you take a test...

Not proven, just a theory...

Well, in some sense, yes. But they only correct your eyes until it is fine for a long time. It's nothing instant.

In the other sense, no. They can correct your eyes, yes, but not entirely like that of a person with normal eyesight. They can help.

they dont CURE ur eyesight but they just help it not to increase....if u dont wear ur glasses ur power keeps increasing (wich worsens ur eyesight) at the age of 16 u cud use this laser operation thing to completely CURE ur eyesight

No they only correct your sight, most opticians recommend that you have your eyes tested every two years because, as you get older your sight changes.

The lenses help the eyes to synthesise images so as to appear clearer and distinct,

No, they only correct it. To cure short or long sight you need laser eye surgery.

The don't fully cure it they just help you see better

no with out them you can't see

Ermm yes otherwise people wouldn't wear them
