I'm getting contacts Wednesday...ahh scared!?!?!

Question: I'm getting contacts Wednesday...ahh scared!?!?
I went to the eye doctor yesterday, and on Wednesday, they will have the contacts. I'm scared! I don't want the eye doctor person to touch my eye. Is it scary?

Answers:

Don't be scared! Usually, they don't touch your eye at all. All they will do is show you how to put them in and then you are done! Make sure that you take good care of them and try not to sleep in them.

The first time they do it its not so much scary as you tend to feel that the eye doctor is too close to you. He isn't going to touch your eye - you dont' touch your eye to put contacts in. What he will do is put the contact on his finger, hold your eyelids open adn then bring his finger close to your eye to put the lens in. That can feel like he's going to touch your eye as his finger comes closer. Just relax and realize that the eye doctor has done this so many times its probably boring for him. Its having someone be that close to you that feels odd. What about getting a friend to sit close enough to you to hold your eyelid open just so you can see what it feels like?

Contacts are really worth it , but that first time is bound to feel scary. Just remind yourself he/she is a professional, there is nothing to be frightened of and you REALLY , REALLY want those contacts. Good luck.

no dont be scared at all! i got contacts like 2 weeks ago and i love them! if your eye doctor tries to put them in for you, you can ask them to just let you try it. that's what i did, i didnt want her to do it cause i was freaking out. once you get the hang of it, its an awesome thing. i love life when i can see everything, glasses sucked for me.

You'll not know your living - you will be free of pushing your glasses up your nose and
feel great. Its a bit tricky to start with taking them out but you'll get used to them and you wont look
back.
Good luck

I wear contacts

I got them in 6th grade
The doctor didn't touch my eye. She had me put them in. Reserved an hour for me to figure it out, but it only took me five minutes. Not scary at all
Good luck (:

No. As long as they are soft contacts and not the hard ones you'll be fine!
