Contact Lenses Question?!

Question: Contact Lenses Question?
Hi -

I got contacts about a month ago. I usually wear them from about 9 in the morning to 9:30-10 in the evening. I try to take good care of them (I have Bausch and Lomb disposables) and not to wear them more than 13 hours a day. Plus, I give them a break one day after every week.
So far, I've experienced very little discomfort when wearing them, only an occasional itch which was remedied by some eye drops.
However, I've read a lot of contact horror stories on the Internet (i.e. Contacts overwear leading to deadly eye infections, etc.) And am wondering:
1. How long should i wear contacts each day? Is 13 hours OK?
2. Should I give them a break more than once each week? Also, I give my eyes time to rest 30 min. in the morning and then and hour in the evening after I take them off.
3. What are some warning signs that I'm not properly caring/overwearing my contacts?
4. The two main infections I've heard contact lens wearers mention are scratched corneas and popping eye veins. I do have 2 or 3 squiggles on the White part of the eye, is that OK? Also, is a scratched cornea felt?

Thanks a lot in advance.

They recomend 8hrs but really just make sure your eyes are moisturised. So when your eyes feel dry just squirt some contact solution right in your eye, you'll be good to go. also, don't slepp with them in, thats where the horror stories come from lol. They stick to your eye and do funny things. Good luck :)
