Well.. the best way to answer this is:

There are new materials (silicon hydrogels... with a high Dk/t values) that will pass enough oxygen to the eye while you're sleeping... up to 29 nights!!!

However, if you decide to wear these to sleep, you must be fitted with them by your eye care prof. and then have them monitor your eyes to see if your eyes are coping with the reduced oxygen while sleeping, and whether your cornea will swell as a result of having a contact lens in.

There is also increase risk of infection, increase risk of CL deposits, reduced comfort... etc.... so..
