exotropia? strabismus? I cannot find out what my condition is called! Nor have I!

Question: Exotropia? strabismus? I cannot find out what my condition is called! Nor have I met anyone with it!?
After 22 years of having creepy eyes lol i would like to know what my condition is! I know its some form of exotropia! Ive looked up almost every eye condition possible and still don't have an exact name for it! Anyways..... When i look straight with my left eye my right eye turns out.....Then when i look straight with my right eye my left eye turns out! This has been nonstop since birth. Its every second of my life! which makes it not intermittent! I have complete control over which eye is straight and which is deviated and my vision is good in both eyes! I can still see semi clearly out of whichever eye i choose to have deviated and can semi focus. Its just extra peripheral vision to me. (which i have learned is most definitely not a good thing when walking through a corn field lol.....Its like watching cars that are racing towards you and passed you all at the same time!) so by medical opinion I should have learned to block out one eye a long time ago which hasnt happened bc i use whichever eye i please whenever. Sometimes i feel like i go into video game mode for a month at a time which gets super depressing. let me explain a little on that. Its like my eyes sink back into the back of my brain and im watching everything through a video camera. Just kinda set back from the scene! And as far as i know my depth perception is fine.....But these are serious deviations too....Very very noticeable ! Im soooooo confused! Please let me know what exactly this is! Thanxs! BOB

You have alternating exotropia. Your depth perception is not normal in the sense that you do not have stereopsis. You are probably very good at judging how far away things are but you are missing out on one cue that "normal" people have. I would not expect you to see things coming out of the screen at a 3D movie. You have close to normal vision in both eyes because you alternate between them. if one eye was always turned out, you would have poor vision in that eye. Surgery might for at least some time provide a cosmetic improvement.

you have strabismus. its a condition where one cannot focus both eyes on a single point. im also 22 and have had it since birth. i have had 7 surgeries throughout my lifetime and while it has made improvements, when I use my right eye my left eye goes inward and when I use my left eye my right eye goes up. if you notice the eye that you use is always going to be straight, the other eye is the one that deviates. its a real pain in the ***. really affects my eye contact with people in social situations. you may wanna try surgery, it may help it at least look a little better.
