Anyone know about eye infections?!

Question: Anyone know about eye infections?
I am not sure whats been happening. I noticed a small itchy pain underneath my left eye, right under the bottom eyelid (If that's what its called) On saturday I noticed it had come up in a small bump, a little red bump on the bottom eyelid. On Monday morning, the usual bags under my eyes (insomnia), the left one was puffy and but it only seemed to hurt when I blinked too hard or touched it. Now it seems to be less puffy but the bump is still on my bottom eye lid and the skin under my eye is red. Pretty sure this is an eye infection but wondering if anyone knew what kind. I am a contacts wearer as well if that helps. Thanks in advanced.

EYE INFECTIONS ARE VERY DANGEROUS MY FRIEND .
I DON'T WANT TO SCARE YOU BUT IT MY BE SOMETHING BAD .
DROP A BIT OF TEA (NORMAL TEA ) IN YOUR EYE .
SEE A DOCTOR .SEE A DOCTOR .

Could be a stye, but then again we can't see it. So your best option, especially if you want it to go away asap, is to see the eye doctor. Hot compresses are good to do, but many will also prescribe topical drops in addition to that. If it looks like a zit, having a white head, DO NOT POP it like a zit. If you let it go too long you could have more inflammation and it can get worse before it gets better.

And don't put tea in your eye like the other one said. Never put anything in the eye unless recommended by a physician.

It sounds like a stye:

Give it some time. They usually clear up on their own for me. A doctor can provide you with some antibiotic salve if it doesn't.

see a eye doc

It's probably a stye, which is caused by a clogged gland, like an eyelash follicle. I'm very prone to these and get them often. Soak your eye with a wet, hot compress a few times a day, for up to 15 minutes at a time. The more often you soak, the faster the stye will disappear. If it doesn't go away, you may have a chalazion that will need cut out by a doctor (it sounds much worse than it really is). Wear your glasses until the bump is gone and your eye is no longer red.

From what I've read, styes aren't contagious, as they aren't caused by infection. But to be on the safe side, I make sure to use a clean washcloth with each soak and change my hand towel often. I also toss the pair of contacts I was wearing before I began treating the stye (I use the disposables) and open up a fresh pair once the stye is gone.
