It can be normal to have SLIGHT pain with bright(ish) lights with a superficial cut to the cornea.

However: do this test.

Go out to the sun light. Cover BOTH EYES with your hands (one hand over each eye) for 10 seconds. Now remove your RIGHT hand, and open your eyes (keep the Left hand still covering the Left eye).

Now, does your Left eye hurt even if it's covered?
If no - probably due to the cornea cut.
If YES - you've got UVEITIS (inflamation inside the eyeball)... (possibly from the cut)... ring your eye doctor and tell him/her... you might need stronger eyedrops.

Sensitivity to light is normal with a corneal abrasion or cut. If the irritation is not getting better or if it gets worse call your eye doctor, you may need dilating drops. If your not feeling much better by tomorrow definitely see your eye doctor.

Yes , it's normal for a cut or abrasion on the cornea to make that eye very sensitive to light.

You need a good sunglass on when you go out.
