Do glasses damage your vision?!

Question: Do glasses damage your vision?
I got reading glasses at age 19 and wore them rarely. My vision didn't change much. When I got another pair of reading glasses at age 22 I wore them all the time and it seems my vision has declined greatly when I take them off in comparison to when I first started using them. Have my glasses caused my eyes to change for the worse?

All glasses do is focus light. How could they damage your vision? Your eyes are getting worse all on their own. Why did you first get reading glasses? Because your eyes declined to the point of needing them. You can't blame glasses for that. Why did you get a second pair of glasses years later and wear them all the time? Because your eyes declined to the point of needing them. You can't blame glasses for that either since you say you rarely wore your first pair. Why do you now blame the glasses for making your eyes worse?

It depends really. With reading glasses I don't know, but my vision has declined a lot in my left eye for nearsighted eyes. With my mom it was the opposite; her prescription has improved a bit, but just barely. You may just need to break in the glasses a bit more, but they're pretty much stuck like that. Also, part of it may be when you finished growing and your eyes settled to their full growth.

Yes. Once you begin to wear glasses you can expect to wear them for the rest of your living life.
What else could be causing the problem but the glasses?

No, glasses can't damage your eyesight. Even if you wear really 'off glasses' for a while, your eyes retain their ability.

no. eyes just natually get worse after your first pair of glasses
