Is 20/200 in one eye considered legally blind?!

Question: Is 20/200 in one eye considered legally blind?
Can you be considered legally blind in one eye? My left is 20/20 and my right is 20/200. I was wondering if my right would be considered legally blind, or isn't because my other eye is perfect.

Answers:

if you're right eye is 20/200...EVEN WITH THE BEST CORRECTION ON, then yes that *right* eye is legally blind.

however:

if you see well thru glasses or contacts in the right eye, then that is NOT legal blindness

and

usually "legal blindness" as defined by most states to qualify for special "disability" is:

BEST CORRECTED VISION OF 20/70 IN THE WORST EYE. so both eyes have to be bad, and the best eye has to be 20/70 THRU THE BEST GLASSES OR CONTACTS. if either eye is anywhere close to 20/20 thru any lens, then thats not legally blind.

Yes that is the upper limit of being legally blind in your right eye, but you are only legally blind if the right eye was better than the left eye. Hope that helps.
