How do I know I have Pink Eye?!

Well, today I woke up and I have a little bit of stuff around my eye. I woke up and I saw my eyeand it was red(not bloody nor dark red) it was a very light red. So, I wnet to school my eye cleared up and It was white again, once I got to my last class some stuff came out of it. I told my teacher he checked it he said it look irritated nothing serious( he checked the bottom of it). So, I mean it doesnt hurt when I look at the light all it's doing is get little bit red, little bit of stuff of stuff is coming out of it. I hope I dont have pink eye cause tomorrow I have a very important rehsal for a concert and I dont want to miss it cause of my eye. Please HEL ME!! And if anyone has a quick/great remedy for me to use that would help!!
