Head hurts when I wear glasses?!

Question: Head hurts when I wear glasses?
My head hurts when i wear glasses. I got them about a year ago. I'm short sighted and have astigmatism. I went for a test and got my prescription written up in one place, but got my glasses at another. (I gave them the prescription I got from the other place) I'm not supposed to wear them all the time, only for study etc. so I don't wear them very often, only when I can't see writing etc. (Maybe a few minutes a day) The glasses are multi coated. I can see fine with them on, it's really clear, it's just that my head hurts a little sometimes. Are they supposed to hurt at first 'cause I'm not used to them? Do I have to get another prescription? What could be wrong?

No, nothing's wrong it just takes a while for your eyes to get used to them. The more you've worn them the less it'll hurt. But if you only wear them once in a while it'll take you a couple weeks to get used to.

You might want to go back and have your perscription taken again and possibly get the glasses there. The other place could have made a mistake and given you the wrong perscription. Also, try wearing the glasses a little more everyday. You probably aren't used to wearing them, so that's why. HOPE I HELPED!

Ordinarily for a short sighted person we suggest glasses for wear for distance, and not especially for near. We never give glasses like that and tell the patient to wear them only for study.
What was your reason for going to the doctor in the first place?
