your probably nearsighted you cant see things far away but up close you can that's how i am i don't need my glasses to read or use my laptop...
Well, laptop screens are LCD. I'm sure that would have something to do with it. Same thing happens to me. They work perfect for a standard TV and computer monitor, but when I'm on my laptop or watching an LCD TV, I have to take them off. I don't exactly know why this is. Maybe something to do with the lighting.

It sounds like you may actually need bifocals rather than a standard perscription.
