Mild astigmatism questions?!

Question: Mild astigmatism questions?
I went to the eye dr and he told me I have mild astigmatism... this is my prescription:
SPECTACLE PRESCRIPTION

OD +0.25-0.25x150 BVA 20/15
OS +0.75-0.25x020 BVA 20/15-2 slow

Recommendations: SV - near

Diagnosis: 367.20 (cyl) Astigmatism

My question is: Can I wear my glasses all day or just when I need to read and be in the computer at work?
2: do you think that by using the glasses all day, would that prescription is going to actually interfere with my vision for far?
I would appreciate any input, mostly by people that know about this...
ps: Lenses are so expensive and feels like a shame to spend 300 in a pair I will always forget in my office..i just want to see if it is possiblee to just wear them all day...

If you can see fine with your glasses when your not just reading then I don't see why you couldn't. I also have astigmatism and I wear my glasses all the time for a couple of years now and my astigmatism hasn't worsened.

Get the glasses and wear them.
You must have had a reason for going to the doctor.

well depending on how bad you feel your eyesight depends on how often you wear them.

your prescription does not look so bad, but speaking from experience, i had -1.25 and -1.75 with astigmatism and i hated it (im speaking in past tense because i decided to do Lasik). Everything was blurry to me (which is what astigmatism does) and it frustrated me and gave me a headache. you being near sighted wont affect your far sight. the glasses are made so you can see better up close and not have things become blurry when looking around. I wore mine whenever I was awake. I didnt need two different glasses. but again its because my eyesight was worse than yours.

If you feel like you need to wear glasses at all times, and see blurry then wear the same ones. but if you feel like your vision is fine its just frustrating when you are reading or in front of a computer then you might just need a pair for work.

sorry for the rambling, I bet I confused you more. and whatever you do dont get contacts. My husband is an Ophthalmologist and hates them with a passion and always rambles about the horrible things it does to your eyes!

The recommendation was for near, so only use for reading and computer. Looking beyond arms length or so will be blurry to you since they are designed to be used within a specific range. Once you get them, you will see what I am referring to. For now, you should be able to get near and computer with the same lens, but as your correction increases over the years you may find that a computer bifocal will be necessary.

If you get a slim style frame you can wear them a bit lower on your nose so you could look over them to see in the distance and perhaps keep them on most of the time. (there are styles called half glasses designed for the look over the top use, but usually are referred to as "granny glasses" which are not great styles for people under 70!)

The left eye will offer the best improvement visually as the right has minimal correction. You might also consider a good quality anti-reflective coating for your glasses to reduce glare on the lenses especially if you are working under fluorescent lighting.
