Canadian Eye Prescription Help?!

Question: Canadian Eye Prescription Help?
Hello I recently went to my eye doctor and received an eye prescription.

Can anyone tell the degree of seriousness of my myopia, left eye astigmatism and Prism disorder?

Are my eyes so bad that I need to stop using from computers or other devices emiting light radiation?

My eye prescription is as follows:

OD : -400 (Spherical)

OS (spherical) -500 / cylindrical (-125) / Prism:(160)

Answers:

your right eye is just a -4 this is quite a normal moderate strength
your left eye is a bit stronger -5.00/-1.25x160 Im ignoring the prism because unless the Canadian system is completely different than everywhere else Prisms are written totally differently such as 3up or 2base in. or sometimes drawn with an arrow. I think the 160 refers to the axis of the cylinder. -1.25 cyl is not very high, i have seen -5 cylinders and - 6. I have seen -14.00 spherical, so your prescription isn't so high. You do not need to stop using computers or anything else. You just need to wear glasses or contacts all the time. Or consider laser surgery

You have moderate myopia and mild astigmatism. There is no prism disorder, the 160 is part of the astigmatism.

Computers and other devices that emit light do not damage your eyes so you do not need to stop using them, no matter what your prescription.
