He took the eyes of some little retarded child that no one cared about and then swapped them with the blind mans. The operation was unsanitary and the blind man died hours after. You could also argue that the "sight" that was given was in fact the knowledge of god that lets him "see" the right path. If you ever read Oedipus then you would understand better
