Ok first of all, contact lenses are not over the counter. You must see an eye doctor for and evaluation and fitting regardless if you need correction or not. They will also give you an insertion and removal class to show you the proper way of putting then in and taking them out, as well as, proper cleaning and such.
In regards to the first post above...it does not 'hurt' to wear contact lenses the first time you put them in. However you will feel them because DUH!...there is something sitting on your eye! Lol You will need to build up a wear time, which your doctor will explain to you at your exam. Once your eye doctor shows you how to insert/remove them, I guarantee you won't be scared. It's not as scary as you may think. Good luck!

i won't lie it's gonna burn/irritate/ and feel uncomfortable the first time you put contacts in(kinda like having an eyelash in your eye), but to try and get over the fear of putting it in and out, you should maybe think of how nice your eye would look with the new color?
and you gradually get used to the pain of the contacts though.
