Is it possible to find one hard contact lense in a box of disposables?!

Question: Is it possible to find one hard contact lense in a box of disposables?
I wear disposable contact lenses and have a prescription that I fill through 1800 Contacts. Right now, I order Avaira lenses through 1800 Contacts. This morning I was putting in a new pair of contact lenses and pulled 2 brand new packages of lenses from the box. One of the lenses appears to be a hard lense. It is entirely different in texture from the usual disposables that I use. It was a lot different to put in because it was hard to hold on to while putting in my eye. I kept dropping it and it is not flexible like the other one. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Is this possible?

Answers:

You should contact them about this - it could be that the lens is defective. Good rule of thumb is that if it doesn't look right - don't use it :)

The website that I use http://visiondirect.com has a return policy for defective lenses - I assume your website would too.

Good luck!

one of the lenses got opened & the saline evaporated, thats all. dont wear that 1. its ruined.

You mean you found a strange lens like that in one of those little packages ...and you even tried putting it in your eye ??

Seems like you have a very defective lens there. It doesn't seem possible to be an RGP lens ( hard lens) it would be almost impossible for it to get in there...unless someone did it on purpose. They aren't even made in the same factories.

A hard lens is about half the size of soft lenses in diameter...does that look about right ?

You should call the toll free number for 1800contacts and tell them what you found. They may want you to send it back, and who knows, you may get a free box or two for it.
