Flashes of light............?!

Question: Flashes of light............?
whenever I'm in the dark (usually when I go to bed) I see flashing rings. It occurs when I look to the outskirts of my vision. They look like o's and are a somewhat whitesh bluey color. Is this normal? It doens't hurt or anything but it's been going on for maybe 4 months or so. Some nights its brighter, other nights its less noticeable

Answers:

Go see your eye doctor as soon as you can. Flashes of light could be an indication of a retinal detachment which can lead to blindness. It is best to catch these things early, so I'd say you shouldn't wait another 4 months.

i have almost the same thing, i discovered it could be the fluid in your eyeballs is reducing so it's manually activating the eye cones in the back of your eyeball so you see flashes of light where there are none, for me when im looking in the dark its like im looking at a fuzzy tv screen. you should see an eye doctor tho because it could be some sort of tear in the blood vessels in your eyeball leaking red blood cells into your eye.

experience.
