How long does it take to test for a detaching retina? (approx)?!

Question: How long does it take to test for a detaching retina? (approx)?
I have to get the test done at an eye specialist. It is the one where they put eye drops in to enlarge the pupil to look in it.
Thank you.

Answers:

Dilation drops last generally 4-6 hours.
However the doctor can determine if your retina is detached pretty quickly after your eyes have dilated (the drops take about 15 minutes).
