having vision problems?!

Question: Having vision problems?
I really need someone to reply.........i started having vision problems in the 3rd grade (im 22 yrs old now) i had to get glasses & have never been back for an eye exam since. i wore my glasses all the time after first, but then hardly ever. in the last 8 or 9 months ive worn my glasses (same ones that i got in 3rd grade) more than ever....then about 2 months ago i started having really bad vision problems with both eyes...like my vision will be fine, then all the sudden itll get so blurry i cant see anything, this will last about 10 seconds, then its fine, & it happens off and on all day. I get the occasional headache but thats about it. i also have had tinnitus(ringing in my left ear) for about the last 2 months as well. what could my problem be? I have an appointment with an eye doctor at 11:15 in the morning but im terrified itll be something horrible. any ideas??

Do the weird vision problems seem to be associated with headaches?

Sometimes migranes cause very weird visual effects, (sometime you don't even get the headache)however, there might be other conditions that cause this. Probably a good idea to have the eye test, if they find anything strange, they will refer you to a specialist (if necessary).

It's great that you made an appointment wit your Optometrist. Write all of these problems you are having down, and be sure to discuss them with your eye doctor until all of your questions are answered. Chances are your eyesight has changed since 3rd grade, but sporadic blurred vision is not normal.

it seems you have vision problems

Could be that the glasses you are using temporarily give you some vision, but since the Rx is so out of date after you have them on, your eyes can no longer accommodate through them. You have the appointment so relax for now and have the testing done. Get some new glasses and everything should be fine. In the event there is something else going on at least you are taking steps to find out. Just be honest about any questions asked at the appointment and mention any other health issues you may have been experiencing even if it isn't related to the eyes.

From 3rd grade to now, it is possible that you could have had several Rx changes which you never got. Those years in between is when the vision can change the most as you grow and once you reach the age you are now it tends to level off.
