Help! My eye is swollen for NO REASON ?!?!

Question: Help! My eye is swollen for NO REASON ?!?
Over the past several months, my eye has been getting itchy, ad it has this feeling like something is in my eye. So, I itch and itch but nothings there & the feeling stays. Over time, my eye swells ( my literal eye, like the white part) and there is a little pouch on my eye that makes my eyes close up more and water and make the underneath of my eye swell too. My eyes turn red-ish. This usually occurs at night, by the way. Any idea what it is?

ALSO -- It goes away by the next day, and it happens at least once a month.

Answers:

Is it both eyes or just one? Are you using any eye drops? If your eye(s) are/is swollen now, can you take a picture and post it somewhere?

Sounds like allergic conjunctivitis, but usually that's in both eyes. Go to a drug-store and buy some Zaditor eye drops. Use 1 drop in each eye twice per day and see if that helps. If it does, then its probably just allergies. If not, go see an eye doctor (ophthalmologist or optometrist). Do not put lime juice in your eyes, ever.

It may be allergies. Usually when your eye is itchy and watery it means that your eye is trying to get rid of something that should not be in your eye. Try to flush your eye out with cold water everyday. If the problem still continues try to contact an optometrist, even if you do not have health insursance many optometrist will check you for under $100. Try calling around and seeing who gives you the best price for non-insuranced emergency/eye infections (if money is a problem). I hope this works.

I would get it checked out. It could be a number of things but sounds like it could be allergies and thats just my best guess. If it's been happening for that long you shouldn't ignore it. Good luck
