Is it okay to wear eye make-up to the eye doctor when when your going to get con!

Question: Is it okay to wear eye make-up to the eye doctor when when your going to get contacts?
Not crazy think black eyeliner or anything. In fact no eye liner at all. Just eye shadow and mascera?

The problem with this is that your makeup will get all messed up as the eye doctor will be touching your eyelids. That will smudge the makeup and also put makeup onto the doctor's hands which isn't a good idea when handling lenses. When you have contacts you put on makeup AFTER putting in your contacts so it does't get all smudged. Also as another poster has said they will be teaching you how to do it and until you have practiced you will likely touch the lens with your eyelashes adn then they will have mascara on them and be uncomfortable. Its best not to wear makeup for this appointment really.

its fine to wear eyemakeup with contacts but make sure you are quite competent taking them in /out first. You also need to be careful putting it on that you don't get it onto the lens. I personally find using hypo allergenic makeup helps in case of accidents.

kinda foolish unless you already are adept at putting contacts in and taking them out.... they will show you how and then watch to make sure you can do it yourself... so you can expect that your eyes will be watering pretty good while you're there.... mascara can cause a problem by flaking and getting INTO your eye while this try-on thing is happening.... once you have the contacts, you'll soon learn to have them in before you try ANY makeup....I'd go without...

Eye shadow is o.k. mascara no, because if It's your first time trying on contacts your eyes are going to tear up and your mascara will run into your eyes and it will sting.

Umm, not in my opinion. Because your eye doctor will dilate your eyes, and get all handsy with your pretty little eyes. :D And mess up your makeup or get an eyelash in your eye!! D; ~?
