What can I expect from an eye appointment?!

Question: What can I expect from an eye appointment?
What kinds of tests does the eye doctor do and how long does it take before you can get an eye glasses prescription? What can I expect?

Answers:

They ask you to look at an eye chart. if you can't see all the lines then they will put test glasses on your eyes and use different lenses till they find a set which makes you see properly. they will also look in your eyes with a light , possibly blow a bit of air in your eye to check for glaucoma. Sometimes they make you do a test where you have to press a mouse button every time you see a spot - this is to test for tunnel vision. Eye tests take about an hour. They don't hurt but they are boring and you need to answer teh questions properly to get a decent perscription. You should get a perscription immediately after the test, but I'd advise you to look at glasses another day as eyetests tend to be a bit tiring and getting glasses is a big decision as they are expensive.

It won't take longer than 30 minutes, and if you go to one of those places like Pearl Vision or Eyewear Express you can get your glasses done in one hour.....or so they say.
The test:
They'll have you read letters and numbers displayed on the wall(or a door) to determine where your ability to read has failed(distance or close up), they might check the pressure in your eyes too. Then they are going to determine which lenses are best for you by putting a thing on your nose that holds their lenses and then asking you which one is better. That's all.....

Well eye tests dont take too long and choosing ur glasses oh that depends on u. max 2 hours would be enough.
