Can Anti glare Prescription glasses cause ghosting?!
Question: Can Anti glare Prescription glasses cause ghosting?
But when I try to see the text from tilting my head around and the shadow/ghosting disappears just near the edges.
Does it mean Bad lenses ? This was not happening before with normal cheap lenses.
Prescription is correct, I had it checked twice.
Answers:
Like princeidoc said , it probably isn't the AR coating doing that.
You say you don't have astigmatism , then you say you have a cylinder power...if you do , then that means you have astigmatism . That is what cylinder powers are for.
Ghosting usually means the axis is off by a few degrees on the cylinder power , from what it should be.
You had prescription checked twice, that doesn't mean it's correct. It is only correct to what they wanted it to be, not necessarily what is right for you.
The fact the ghosting disappears, or changes when you tilt your head is almost a sure sign it is an axis problem.
Optician
probably not the AR.
more likely to be the new Rx (probably has astigmatism) or the lens material (especially if its polycarbonate)
