The most important thing about Lasik is the doctor you choose. Don't get it done with the cheapest doctor you can find. Get it done by a doctor with the most experience with Lasik. These are your eyes. And you want it done right the first time.

Lasik Mistake #1: Being swayed by flashy advertising on radio, TV, print or online. It's human nature to be swayed by pretty pictures, a trusting voice, and great sounding slogans.

Lasik Mistake #2: Looking for rock-bottom bargains - and risking your eyesight with surgery at a "churn and burn" factory. Don't waste time bargain hunting. You'll get what you pay for.

Lasik Mistake #3: Relying on 1 or 2 patients recommendations instead of looking at the doctors full track record.

Lasik Mistake #4: Blindly accepting your general doctor's or optometrist's recommendation for a Lasik surgeon.

Do your own research:
The doctor should have a few thousand Lasik procedures under his belt.
Google the doctor to see if there are any complaints about him.
You should have at least two pre-op visits to test your eyes and double check them.
You should have several post-op visits to spots little problems before they become big ones.

I say get it if your eyesight is very terrible. Mine was 700+ both eyes(that's very terrible). I had my surgery last may(I'm 17 - I know there are risk but for me it's like a do or die because I can't do good with my eyesight before. I like playing basketball - with glasses on or not I have a hard time playing). Be sure to check the doctor - his experience, mine was good because I've seen in their website and the testimonials of the celebrities in our country(Philippines) and foreigners go here too. I guess the worst would happen to you if it didn't succeed is not blindness but your eyesight remains the same as before. For me, the healing process was 2 hours - not fully but it was okay then the following day I went back to them, it was 20-25 now. Pray to God too.

i do not nor did i ever have glaucoma. well i went to a specialist and she mapped my eye. she found pressure build up in both. so she did laser on both eyes. 2 seconds per eye. no problems since then. so, i am not sure why you are having laser surgery but my pressure could have caused me to go blind in my eyes. so, unless you are told you have no other alternative and have had other opinions i say go with the best answer for, i don't know your condition. sometimes if you have had a cataract with surgery to place a lens in your eye, you may get another cataract in the future but the only way to correct that problem is laser. they can not put a new lens in again. good luck and take care. i am no pro so, make sure one eye is done so that you are able to see clear and then the other after the one eye has healed. so one eye is better than none i guess. get lots of answers!

Was a little scared before I went this summer but ended up with no problems and now have better than 20/20 vision. I had the choice of holding a squeeze ball or stuffed bear lol. I know at the LasikPlus place I went you could see other people having the surgery but I didn't want to know what they were going to do before I went there.

Get it! My cousin got this surgery and he said it is safe. and now he don't have to wear spectacles or lenses anymore! So get it but if you are afraid of it . ask doctor advice. :) good luck!

The only valid reason to have eye surgery is if your vision will be compromised wthout it.
