Can sun damage the eyes through the eye lids?!

Question: Can sun damage the eyes through the eye lids?
I'm a very pale person and recently I've been going outside and doing my meditations in the sun rather than inside so I can get some skin tone.... If my eyes are closed, is it possible for the sun to damage them through the eye lids? In the sense that the sun is shining DIRECTLY onto my face... meaning if I opened my eyes while looking in the direction it wouldn't be pleasant :p.

You eyelids will stop the harm UV rays from damaging your eyes, but you can have lesions that grow on your eyelids from UV damage. I would recommend wearing sun glasses or staying out of the sun from 10-2.

Probably not, although the eyelids are pretty thin. Either keep your head down, or face away from the Sun.
