I've worn glasses since I was 10 and am now in my 50's. I wear them all the time though as I can't really find my way round without them. Yes I've always wanted perfect vision - but then it'd be nice to win the lottery as well. I don't find them annoying when reading or at the computer screen as modern glasses aren't uncomfotable the way old ones were and there aren't any real disadvantages. Playing sport or being outside is a pain. Even if its not raining then they steam up going into shops when its cold and I find contacts a lot better for this. Look better with or without them? When I was at school there were about 2 different sorts of frames and they looked ugly on everyone. Nowadays that isn't true and you can find a frame which suits you. I don't think its a question of looking better with or without them - just different. I wouldn't actually wear contacts to an important meeting as people definitely take you more seriously in glasses.

good luck with them - you will adapt to it and if you don't need them full time you won't see most of the disadvantages - like not being able to find the right changing rooms when you are in the swimming baths.

Well it can be annoying at first, but you get use to it. I can't tell you much about carrying them around because I have to wear my all the time, but it can be a pain to have to carry a case around for them. I guess it really depends on the person whether or not you look better with them. As long as you get a good frame for your face, then you can look better with them. Some of my friends have several pairs of glasses that they wear with different outfits almost like an accessory and they look great. Of course I wish I had better vision. Everyone with glasses wishes they didn't need them. However, I'm just glad that I can see at all and am not blind. Ever since I've had contacts though, I don't mind as much not having perfect vision because I only have to wear my glasses now at night.

I wish i did have better viision but you know what? life happens. Wearing them makes some people looks smarter! some people look good some people look wel...not so good. but in you case im sure you'll look fine!
i dont carry mine around, i wear them all the time.
But it may be a hassle to carry them if you dont have a case,.
be careful though if you just put them in your back pack, they'll break. haha

Good luck kid!

At first it's hard to get used to them because they're there on your face, but like anything else that's new to you, you get used to it and it becomes a part of you, much like my glasses have been a part of me since I've had them at the age of 18 (I'm 28 now). I look a lot better with them, I can't stand being without them, I don't think I look very good, especially since I am bald. My face just looks odd and naked without them.

I think yeah, everyone who need glasses wishes they could see without them, but for myself, I had 18 years without glasses, I knew what it was like once, I am pretty comfortable with who I am, and that's a person who wears glasses. You'll probably be annoyed with them at first, but once you realize how much better you'll be able to see with them, you'll get used to them and probably like them. Plus, glasses are very much in style these days. Just take good care of them and be happy that you'll be able to see better.

I've been wearing glasses for nearly 15 years, but I have to wear them all the time. At first it can be annoying, but you get used to it. Especially if you carry a purse, it's not so hard to carry them around.
