Does it take a while to get use to astigmatism contacts?!

Question: Does it take a while to get use to astigmatism contacts?
I just got astigmatism contacts and I'm having a little trouble. My eyes are really dry-no matter how many drops I use, and everyone in a while I can feel them. Did anybody else have this problem? Did you eventually get use to it? Please help!

Answers:

I have a feeling it depends on the individual, as I personally have not had a problem with my toric contacts, from the first day of wearing them. While they do get dry if I'm outside in the wind, riding my bike, I normally wear sunglasses and that cuts down on the wind drying out my eyes and contacts.

If your eyes are getting dryer than normal with contacts in, you may need to try a different brand. Let your eye doctor know and they will have options to help with the dryness. I only need drops every now and then in my cars if I turn the heater on or AC for clearing the windows up due to fogginess, for an extended period of time. On avg, maybe twice a week, if that. More so during spring allergies.

It's also possible that your eyes do not produce enough film to support contacts, and you may need prescription eye drops to help your produce more of your natural tears, or other options for keeping tears in your eyes longer.

i have never had any problems and i have astigmatism. maybe its the type/brand of contact.

i wear acuvue advanced for astigmatism

my eyes do good and don't dry out
the only problem i have is allergies so that kinda messes with me sometimes.
but i use zyrtec to clear that problem. lol :)

OHH!!! and don't sleep in them! take them out and take care of your contacts. Sleeping in them or even napping will mess with my contacts.
