Do i still need to get my eye exam before a contact fitting ? (read description)!

Question: Do i still need to get my eye exam before a contact fitting ? (read description)?
I had my eye examined last month and wanted to get contacts lenses. However they said i need a fitting, but i didnt have enough time and left. So a month later i made an appointment at my regular optometry for a contact fitting but i think they're going to make me take another eye exam. Can i just bring the prescription sheet thing with me (from my previous eye exam, 1 month ago) to the contact fitting? That way i just need to do the contact fitting and no eye exam needed.

the prescription received from eye exams is usually for eyeglasses only; some steps for contact lenses prescription are omitted in a routine eye exams. So unless you mentioned that you're interested in getting contact lenses, you may need an additional examination.

For example, during contact lens fitting, the optometrist will measure the curvature of the front surface of your eye with keratometer to give him/her a starting point for determining the proper curve and size for your contact lenses.

Also, the optometrist has to evaluate the tear film on the front of your eyes. Contact lenses are not recommended for people with dry eyes. Marginally dry eyes may fit into some contact lenses.

You should not need to get another full eye exam. The glasses prescription and contact lens prescription can be different since one is on the eye and the other is in front of the eye. It depends on your prescription in general because it deals with optics and how light bends.

Anyways, if the same doctor is doing the exam, he will probably charge you additional money for the contact lens exam. But most every doctor will charge an additional charge for contact lens work because they need to follow up with you on how the contacts look, they give you trials, they make you pay for their knowledge. The doctor will redo some testing, but it is by law that he has to do it, but should not be an extra charge for the retesting.

Yes, I'm sure that will be fine. Your eyes are not going to change really in one month.
