Sorry but the only thing that may help you, other than contacts, lasik etc. is orthokeratology. Simplistically, Otho-k is method where special contact lenses are worn while sleeping which reshape the cornea to improve nearsightedness. It is not a permanent fix since it only improves your vision for a day or two, so you do have to sleep in the lenses most nights. It is probably not covered by health insurance as I'm sure it is considered a cosmetic procedure, like Lasik, but unlike lasik, there are few risks.

Sorry but there is no scientific proof that eye exercises, eye vitamins or eating foods high in beta-carotene or lutein will improve visual acuity. Numerous studies have been conducted and continue to be conducted on this subject and to date all results are inconclusive

Hi pyrogen.

A very good question because most people think specs, contacts and lasik are the only options

Well the good news is that while theres one or two alternatives to consider (like Ortho-K) there's also the option of looking into the CAUSE of bad eyesight.
People who sell spectacles/lenses are just selling a trick that helps to hide the symptoms of poor vision (from the wearer). While this may seem a convenience to some it does however allow the orignal malfunction to continue as it did before.

(Note -The numbers in brackets refer to sources of information)

You might hear someone say "oh eyesight cannot change, its genetics" and "everyone wears glasses, because its the ONLY and BEST solution for the problem."

Listening to people like that will never do you good in the long term or allow you the freedom to consider other althernatives.
Dont get me wrong. The invention of optics/lenses has brought many benefits to our daily lives. Those such as binoculars (the ability to spy through someone's window) and the telescope (to ability to gaze at the stars).

But the idea behind them is simply a trick of the eye. Another trick is making a peephole and being able to see everything through it in 20/20 vision [1].
Someone solely involved in optics does not understand eyesight, does not understand genetics and does not understand the history of the problem. Rates of myopia have increased dramatically in the last 100 years. (Even becoming endemic in china) [2]

The 3 issues you now face are
1. Having normal healthy eyes that developed an elongated shape over time [3],
2. Being uncomfortable (sometimes) with the ablity to see in 20/10 and as a reaction blurring your vision as a habit
3. Generally having bad eye habits which are a strain on the eyesight. [4]

With the first issue you cant do very much unfortunately. However some people claim to have reversed any elongation of their eyeball by reversing the polarity of the lens they wear [3]

With the second issue, thats something you maybe need to get a hold of if you were better at it before. Dont let yourself feel bad with being able to see clearly. If you always struggled to see clearly then now is the time to relax and let that come to you.

With the 3rd issue you can just remember that without glasses you often become someone that stares for too much of the time and for too long.[3] When wearing glasses you are possibly taking comfort in acting in a way that allows you to be out of sight of everyone and therefore nobody will look at you. This approach is unnatural because someone with normal eyesight should be conscious of people around them looking or staring.

The other thing is say when someone else does something you dont like or if a person is ignorant and causes trouble for you, you may have a tactic of staring/giving attention at him/her by shifting attention onto the person. Doing this only puts a strain onto your own eyesight. Its likely during this time that you notice a deterioration in your vision. So avoid doing that if you can.

Ok just covering the lies that Footprins so graciously repeats (everyday) in this site:

"There is no other solution that has ever been proven to work."
There are plenty of solutions, one being natural eyesight restoration. There is plenty of evidence that it works. (footprins probably knows this but as a reaction has decided to pursue a crusade of misinformation to convince as many people as possible of his opinion before he passes away)

There are many more online but there isn't space for them. Just google any variation of "natural eyesight restoration" to see the evidence for yourself

"So called eye exercises are a waste of time and vitamins don't help improve vision either...so, that's why Laser surgery exists."
This has to be the dumbest thing anyone with a scientific approach can say.

There are 3 main muscles involved in eyesight
Extraocular
Obicularis Oculi
Ciliary Muscle

Say if exercising them were to be a complete waste of time. Then by following footprin's suggestion we should never move/engage a single muscle in or around our eyeball. Trying to do that would be engaging in "unnecessary exercise" (according to "footprin")

The truth is that his approach would bring on many problems. Such as the eventual inability...
to close your eyes (after a prolonged period of inactivity)
to allow tears to come out of the tear gland and into the eye,
to turn the eyeball inside the eye-socket
and an inability to switch your focus from near to far vision (and vice versa.)

You see to maintain the healthy working order of any muscle it needs to be regularly used. Prevent any muscle activity and the result would be muscle mass slowly disappearing. Allow a muscle to waste away and the person would be just contributing to the problem of a less workable body.

you should be eating a lot of vitamin A, C, and E to help improve your vision. but the effect can only be felt after consuming them regularly for a period of time. in the meantime, you should wear your vision aid so your vision won't get worse (i know it's not your go-to choice, but it'll be basically be moot if you try to improve your vision if you don't stop it from deteriorating further). and to track your eye improvement progress, you should visit an optometrist regularly for eye exams.

There is no other solution that has ever been proven to work.

If simple diet changes could improve vision it would be common knowledge and everyone who wears glasses would be doing it.

So called eye exercises are a waste of time and vitamins don't help improve vision either...so, that's why Laser surgery exists.

Optician

Sorry if there was a way then everyone would be practicing it. For soccer you could get sports goggles.

Good luck

Eye care specialist.

eat more white meat than red meat dear.... Like fishes. It contain natural nutrients 4 eyesight. Tk care. ;)
