should i go for an eye appointment? could i need glasses?!

Question: Should i go for an eye appointment? could i need glasses?
sometimes when i read the board at school i squint, but i don't think i have to. it's still clear without it but i still squint.. i don't know why. and like things far away go a little bit blurry sometimes. my eyes hurt a lot and i think that they feel strained. and i get headaches as well.
i went to the eye doctor a few months ago, and i am 13. i don't know if i should go again or not, but i don't know how i would tell my mom, or if she would believe me. also i tried my friends low prescription glasses on just for a few seconds and things seemed pretty clear.
do i need glasses? if so, how would i tell my mom that i want an appointment?
and what could my eyes be doing? any advice?
thanks! =)

Answers:

some people squint because the objects they're looking at are blurry, and squinting helps to focus their vision. this is a good indication that you should go to an optometrist to get your eyes checked. squinting may also strain your eyes, causing your eyes to hurt and you getting headaches.

because of your young age, your vision may not be stabilized yet, and so you may need to go to the optometrist more often than other people. tell your mother that you may need glasses to help you learn better in school :).

Just go for an appointment you should be getting one every year anyway.
