Well, there is no magic food or tonic anyone can suggest she take to make it better.
She will have to see a Dr. about that , if she hasn't already.
The cause will have to be found, whether it be an infection of some type, or another reason. Only her Dr. and running some tests will find that cause and what treatment may be needed.
Really depends on what the actual cause of the loss of sense of smell. I had this happen to me a few years ago, due to a sinus infection, that I wasn't even aware I had, until I woke up one morning and everything (and I mean everything), smelled like burned plastic for about 10 hours and then no sense of smell at all for nearly 4 months until I root cause of the infection was cleared up.
