No, they are not. Like said above, contacts are on the eye and glasses sit in front of the eye. For a power like yours, most likely it will be the same power, but as the power get bigger, the glasses and contact lens power change more.

If you had said your GLASSES prescription was - 2.50 , we could say contacts would be the same...BUT you say your contacts are - 2.50 , so that does not mean your glasses are the same.

Glasses could be - 2.25 - 0.50 with an axis from 1 - 180 and be a - 2.50 in contacts

Glasses could be - 2.50 - 0.25 with any axis, and also be a - 2.50 in contacts

Glasses could be - 2.25 - 0.75 with any axis, and also be a - 2.50 in contacts

So Jac could be very wrong, and our optometry student also.

There is no conversion possible from a contact prescription to get the glasses Rx, like when it is the other way around.

No, not necessarily. Contacts fit differently (i.e. closer to the eye) than glasses, and often mask the effects of small amounts of astigmatism.
If you want to order glasses, you'll need a copy of your spectacle prescription, which your optometrist is required to give you.

Exactly the same
