Vitamin A or eye drops containing Lutein, like I-caps and and eating the vegetables you mention are, supposedly good for your eyes and there is some proof that this may also help prevent age related macular degeneration. There is no proof that vitamins or diet will improve your vision.
Unfortunately, there is no proof that anything but corrective lenses, Ortho-k or surgery (Lasik), which has its own inherent risks, will improve vision.
Those advocating eye exercises or other natural treatments are often just out to scam those desperate for cures and can also cause some of those that believe these scam artists to go blind, because they fail to get proper treatment. You will also note that answerers advocating natural eye treatment do state that the exercises etc. must be practiced for many years in order to see the most any improvement, which would be minute.
