School screenings are never accurate and never detect the real problem, she needs an eye test with a qualified optometrist.

Good luck

Eye care specialist.

The test may not be accurate, but the American Optometric Academy recommends that all children have their eyes professionally examined at 6 months of age, 1 year of age, then 3 then just prior to entering first grade. You should make an appointment with a pediatric ophthalmologist for an eye exam for your daughter. She is definitely not to young to wear glasses. My nephews have been wearing eye glasses since they were 2 year old.

BTW, if you have not taken your daughter for a dental exam yet, it should be done promptly. Her first dental exam should have been when she got her first tooth. We didn't realize how important preventative care was when my son was little, and he had to have most of his baby teeth pulled out when he was 4. That was several decades ago.

School screening tests are rarely accurate, but it does show that she has a visual problem.

She should be taken to an optometrist for a complete eye exam and find out what she actually needs.

I don't know what qualifications DanielAN has, but a judgment like that can't be made from a screening test result.

This means that your daughter can see stuff from 10 feet that other people can see from 40/50 feet. She doesn't really need glasses as of now, but if her vision deteriorates beyond 10/50 (e.g. 10/60) then you might consider getting glasses.

it means her eyesite is bad and she will need glasses.

worn glasses for 30 yrs.

take her to the eye doctor and get her glasses
