Astigmatism Contacts getting dry?!
Question: Astigmatism Contacts getting dry?
Answers:
It isn't a problem with astigmatism contacts in general , it's a problem with the brand you have.
Acuvue has 2 astigmatism contacts, the Advance, and Oasys...and they are both terrible for drying out on many people..
Even without you saying the brand, I knew it had to be one of those.
It won't get any better. Acuvue has been trying for years to make a good lens for astigmatism ...they still haven't got it right.
But, they are just trials , so hopefully your Dr. will find you a good brand to replace those next week.
Optician
I have astigmatism and tried Acuvue Oasys as well as Cibavision Air Optix and I had the same problems. Fortunately they were only trials, so I then tried Bausch & Lomb toric lenses and they're more comfortable than the other ones I've tried. The optometrist said many patients are not able to get used to silicone lenses, and one of the symptoms were that they dried out. I couldn't wear Oasys and Air Optix for long periods of time; two to three hours at a time because they would dry out, look cloudy, and after a while the rewetting drops didn't help.
If they're drying out, ask your eye doctor for a different brand, such as the one I mentioned, or whatever is most comfortable for you.
