How do I convince my friend with bad vision to get glasses?!

Question: How do I convince my friend with bad vision to get glasses?
He needs glasses but he does not have the courage to tell his parents. He also denies needing glasses all the time. He has trouble seeing things in the distance.

If your friend's having trouble with his vision, he may not need glasses just yet. It's been known for some time now that certain eye exercises can actually improve your vision. Although the exercises are not miraculous, they CAN help someone on the verge of needing glasses to re-acquire their visual acuity so they can start to see properly again without needing spectacles.

I actually used one of these programs myself and thankfully I don't need glasses any more. There are a number of these eye-improvement programs your friend can try out. Here's the program that worked for me: http://tinyurl.com/vwglasses5

First you have to find out whyhe doesn't want glasses or is nervous to tell his parents. If its because he is worried about teh look of glasses perhaps you could find an image of celebrities on the net wearing glasses , someone he admires if possible. Point out that his education is going to be difficult - suppose you're not in school and he has noone to copy from ( this happened to me and it was awful , i dreaded my perfect visioned friend being off ). Crossing the road isn't exactly safe - i nearly got run over many times. With his parents get him just to say to one of them casually that he had had probelms seeing the board at school that day so the lesson was difficult. His parents will probably pick up on that , if not then if he trys dropping things like that into the conversation a few times . Parents aren't always listening. If that doesn't work or he doesn't want to try it then what about getting a school nurse or teacher to send a note to his parents? Bad eyesight is nothing to be ashamed of and it doesn't come from anything you have done like watching too much TV or working on the computer. Sometimes people are afraid to tell their parents as they think they have done something wrong and their parents will be angry. This is NOT the case - its just bad luck. Your eyeball is teh wrong shpae and it shows up as you grow. These days glasses are better, contacts are really good and as you get older there is the possibility of surgery. Support from a friend makes a real difference with this - he is lucky to have a good friend in you as this situation is frustrating for you as well.

Go with him to an eye glass store. Have him try on some glasses until he finds some he likes. Sometimes people look even better with glasses.
Maybe if he sees he looks good, he won't be afraid to get glasses. He could tell his parents he is having trouble seeing the blackboard at school.

If hes not getting one sooner or later, his bad vision will worsen. His parents should be concerned about that too.

hit him with a baseball bat and ask him if he saw that comming. if he says no tell him to get some.......
