my contact lense is burning my eye?!

Question: My contact lense is burning my eye?
i've been wearing contacts about two years now and haven't had a problem with it. this morning i was putting my contacts in and had no problem with my right eye but when i put it in my left eye it hurt really bad and my eye started to squint. i took it out immediatly and my eye was bright red...it was so red that my blue eyes look turqouise. i left the other contact in and went about my day for about two hours. i look in the mirror and my eye is fine and stopped burning. i rinsed my contact again and put it back into my eye, to see if it was still a problem. it was, it hurt worse. i took it out and put it right back into the fresh solution. my eye doesn't hurt much now, but it is still red. i am sing a new solution, but i've used it previously and it didn't burn my eye. i have a VERY important event today (a wedding) and i can't wear my glasses, i need a quick fix. any advice?

It's possible you've inserted it inside-out. This causes discomfort. Also, disposable contacts can easily get torn, or small chips broken away from them. This will also cause discomfort.

Look carefully at the contact in question. If it is damaged in any way, you need to replace it.

bit late I guess but you need to throw out that contact the solution and the case. Either the contact is damaged or the solutoin is contaminated.

I can't be sure it's the reason here, but that can happen after handling hot peppers. The oil stays on your skin even after washing. You have to really scrub to get it off.

I think you need to change your contact lens, dear. If not, probably changing the solution might help.

Need to get new contacts as soon as possible

you probably have AIDS
