How long did you wear the patch? Do you need glasses too and did you wear then with the patch. Do you also have a turned eye?

The first line of treatment for amblyopia remains wearing glasses and patching. Perceptual stimulation treatment such as revital vision can be added to glasses and patching for better results in children over age 10. On average, you can expect 2 to 3 lines of improvement on the acuity chart. You don't say what your acuity is (different charts have different top lines), but if it is 6/60 or worse then you can expect to get to 6/24 or 6/21 at best which may not be sufficient improvement to justify the time and expense.

There are excellent eye clinics in the UK; ask your parents to have your current eye care provider to refer you to a paediatric amblyopia specialist to discuss whether any on the newer treatments would benefit you.
