Question: What surgeons would be needed for eye transplant surgery?

They would have to be miracle workers , because eye transplants don't exist.

If it was possible...it would be ophthalmologists and neuro surgeons doing it together...but it is completely impossible to do.

There are about 1.2 million connections from the optic nerve to the brain and medical science isn't able to cope with that.

The only part of the eye that can be transplanted is the cornea, the front transparent covering of the eye.

There is no such thing as an eye transplant it is impossible at this moment in time. But if it was ever possible i would say a new type of surgeon called a neuro-ophthalmic surgeons. Or as footprintz said neurosurgeons and ophthalmologists.

EDIT: Hopefully medicine advances in the future.
