Question: Do opticians like specsaves have spare temples to fit to a different frame if the temple gets broken?
I have a pair of eyeglasses that arent made anymore nd the temples need replacing. If i pop into and opticians in town like specsavers do they have spare temples they could try and match and fit to my frame?

They probably do, but don't get your hopes up, it isn't easy or always possible to do.

Many frames have a one of a kind type hinge joint and nothing else will fit except the original parts.

Finding one that will fit as a temporary repair can often be done, but a pair is harder to get. I have drawers full of broken frames I keep for parts like that , but most only have one good temple on them.

Sometimes the only solution is to have the lenses recut into a slightly smaller frame...IF they can find one.

We get people who come in a lot with this issue... The best thing would be to take them into any optical shop and see what they can do for you. It's not always possible to find a temple that is a perfect fit but they may be able to find something that can tide you over until you can get a new pair of glasses.
