what's the difference between -0.25 and +0.25 glasses?!

Question: What's the difference between -0.25 and +0.25 glasses?
Okay, I'll just fill you in a bit: I have a prescription of -0.25, and already have one pair of glasses, but would like another, but I've only seen +0.25 glasses in drugstores (they are cheaper there). they're only for reading. Is -0.25 the same as +0.25???

Obviously + and - aren't the same. The difference between the two is .5. Think of it as a number line. -.25 is .25 to LEFT of zero, +.25 is .25 to the RIGHT of zero.

-.25 ----- 0 ----- +.25

Minus and Plus isn't the same at all.

Think of a thermometer, at - 25 degrees or + 25 degrees

- is a concave lens for distance vision , + is a convex lens that magnifies.

Neither power is strong enough to make any difference anyway, and normally is never prescribed.

I think those were + 2.50 you saw in the drugstores, they don't make + 0.25, because it isn't strong enough to make a difference.

The "+" that you find at drugstores isn't going to work for you. You are "-" myopic Which means you have trouble seeing distance the "+" is for people who have trouble seeing near. Your best and only option is to get prescription glasses.
