Can't really explain eye anomaly.?!

Question: Can't really explain eye anomaly.?
A number of times over the last year or two I've noticed a slight change in the color I'm seeing, at first I thought this was normal but after telling people about it they don't know what the hell I'm talking about, anyway I've worked out the cause and how to get it to happen, basically if I cover one eye with my hand and leave the other one open as normal but stare at a light source or even at the sky on a dull cloudy day I get this with the eye I left open e.g. http://i51.tinypic.com/2rnzqty.jpg and with the eye I had covered e.g. http://i55.tinypic.com/r8x95i.jpg after a few mins they both match the same as the one left open, can anyone explain? is it something normal and simple.

Answers:

If you cover one eye, the eye will start to dark adapt which will change your colour perception. After a few minutes of being exposed to light again it will go back to normal.

Staring at a light source will bleach the light receptors in your eye and also cause a change in colour perception. After a few minutes of not staring at the sun, the receptor will regenerate and colour will go back to normal.

All perfectly normal and expected, not an anomaly.

I'm an optometrist

why don't you visit an ophthalmologist. why are you relying on whom you don't even know. please fix an appointment with an eye doctor and get yourself diagnosed and treated well.
