They wouldn't be thick at all... I wear 9's. And yes, you're correct about hearing that depending on the frames the glasses will be thicker. Lenses get thicker the larger the radius is, which means that the wider or taller the glasses, the thicker they get. So, that's why people get round lenses instead of rectangular lenses for strong prescriptions. But none of this matters, because you have a very weak prescription.
I don't think it'd be all that thick. But if you want, you can always add high index (thinner) lenses.
If you are interested in prescription Ray Bans, you should go to www.replacementlensexpress.com. They specialize in making the prescription lenses, but have recently started selling eyeglasses. Your glasses will depend more on the prescription... Based on my experience those glasses are not that thick nor noticeable.
